Cucinema - co-production Humorologie

Kitchen and chaos are like fire and water. Cooking requires not only talent, but also organisation. In ‘Cucinema’ cooks and actors defy conventional discipline and order of the professional kitchen. Refined cooking techniques are brushed aside and make way for a bizar, but also amusing way of food preparation.

Laika and Circo Ripopolo give the audience a glimpse into their wonderfully chaotic kitchen. Dishes are stepping out of the silver screen. Bottles are balancing on a knife edge.

In an atmosphere of genuine cabaret with live piano music the most surprising dishes are served at your table in style. There is nothing left to do for the audience, except to savour shamelessly the pleasure of this show via a complete meal.

Theatre/clowning - the public is limited to 100 persons, for this performance with meal, you need a separate ticket. Those who are late, don’t come in.

MUSICAL ARSON! – Premiere for Belgium

What happens if classical music falls into the hands of a talented string trio? As soon as the musicians appear on stage, musical anarchy begins.

They compete, make fools of each other, and try to seduce with their interpretation of well known masterpieces. They play Brahms, Ravel and Vivaldi in such a way that these composers are laughing in their graves.

Pluck is a comical string trio that brings a mix of music, comedy and theatre. They have done so in sold out theatres on the Fringe festival in Edinburgh as well as all over the world.

LE SORT DU DEDANS – première for Flanders

A red circus tent beckons in the meadow. Once inside, there is the arena as the intimate heart, with a bass and three artists. And then, the smell and the footsteps of a horse.

The horse, an immense animal up close. What to do, love it or fear it?. The horse, the bass, and three artists seek each other with humour and acrobatics in the ring. As though they were five bodies who discover and explore each other in a universal language.

Is the horse leading the artists or are the artists leading the horse?

This is a unique performance, that takes us back to where circus is rooted, to the horse. And this horse confronts us with its smell, its sound and its dangerous volume. And because of that danger the company imposes some strict rules: infants and children under 7 are not allowed to attend the show, and once it has started, nobody can leave the tent.

Circus in an own tent with 271 seats. For this show you need to pick up an additional free ticket which you can get upon showing your festival wristband at the festival desk. This ticket is necessary because of the limited number of seats.

Standup en cabaret

PETER VERMERSCH (B) started in theatre. However, in 2002 they found that he suffers from a hereditary disease : spinocerebellar ataxia. This disease causes uncertain steps and slurred speech, which is detrimental for theatre. Peter described his painful years in a couple of books.

Among others, his good friend Joost van Hyfte urged him to exploit this condition and start a new career as a comedian.

He goes for it, in his own unique way.

BEGIJN LE BLEU makes narrative cabaret. For his latest two performances, he was assisted by Randall Casaer who also works together with, among others, Wouter Deprez and Wim Helsen.

“His character is in a way threatening, reminiscent of John Cleese. The audience did not know whether to laugh at this strange figure, feel pity, or be afraid. This emotional area is also familiar to Wim Helsen, though Le Bleu now has his own style.” De Standaard.

WWinner of the jury - and audience prize Cameretten 2005 with excerpts from ‘the knight in shining armour’.

At the Festival of Emotions, he extensively tries out new material.

Standup Comedy

Before his comedy career ARNOUT VAN DEN BOSSCHE was a consultant. A real one, because he had an explanation for everything. Especially afterwards...

The focal point in his show is the question how men and women relate to each other. As an “International Relationship Expert” he uses a flipchart with concise drawings that are very recognisable, and above all, have an hilarious effect.

Arnout is the winner of Humo's Comedy Cup 2009
"Keep an eye on Arnout, he makes quite an impression!" De Standaard

STEVEN GABRIELS grew up in the last house of a dead end street near Antwerp. In such a situation you can do two things, either spend your time looking intensely through the window hoping to see somebody who took a wrong turn and ended up in your street, or decide to go out the door, find a stage and tell people about the thoughts and impressions you had back home, by that window.
He took the second option.

His second show ‘Kassei!’ had its premiere in April.
